Mercury covered gold
How to remove mercury from gold. I tried to vaporize the mercury in the potato but it didn't work. I may not have gotten the fire hot enough. I know you can burn the mercury off with a tourch but I was hoping to save it and re-use it to catch micro gold in my black sands. I then tried to use acid, which did remove some of the mercury from the gold. Though after draining the acid off and adding more water and baking soda, I couldn't recover the mercury.

Roots don't hold the gold
Просмотров 4,5 тыс.9 лет назад
Contrary to what is a popular belief, tree, bush nor grass roots hold extra gold. What it may show is that noone has dug there in quite a while and therefor there is some gold there. I see so many people that have no clue where to find gold so they dig under the highbanks. One of the main reasons I make videos is to prove & teach people that there is more gold in the main waterflow than there i...

Gold Pay-streaks in High Water
Просмотров 4 тыс.10 лет назад
Hi water gold. Where to look. recognising pay-streaks. Take pictures of the rivers & creeks when the water is at it's highest. This will give you a better ideas as to where the most gold will settle out. There are slow areas all over the water course. You just need to be able to identify them so that you can recover more gold without digging in gold-less over burden.

Pay-Streak Gold Part 4
Просмотров 7 тыс.10 лет назад
Pay-Streak gold can be very productive. You don't find as much for pickers but you will get more color over all. Of course that depends on the river you are prospecting as well. Once you learn the area you are prospecting, I would recommend Pay-streaks over crevicing. Though crevicing will normally produce larger pickers. As in this video, it is possible to find pickers in the Pay-Streak but no...

2 grams of gold picked off the hard pan in 20 minutes. It doesn't get much better than that. Some crevices may pay off a little better but you should not overlook what is at the bottom of the creek-bed. They say DIG-DEEP, for a reason. I thought I watched this video a long time ago and then I noticed it is 12 years old. Which means we too are 12 years older and for myself not quite as spry but still as enthusiastic. Lots has happened over the last 12 years as far as technology goes. Unfortunately even though I can comprehend much of it more than a good many I am light years away from getting it to work for me .anyways if you are still around I have a question about Google Earth that maybe you can answer for me . But first have you seen those glasses that you can buy for locating gold deposits .I at first thought yeah right but the more I find out about them they are quite amazing . If you can find them they are made by Sony an sell for about 500 .00 bucks. They use some type of light polarization where you see what they call electric blue or electric violet in the vegetation on top of the deposit or on top of a body of water. Recently something has changed on my Google Earth that I don't recall ever seeing before . I see what I can only describe as electric blue and light violet in gold regions where you might think you would find gold . Some areas are void of this blue feature like they were intentionally left out of the application. You can see swaths in the coverage liked you often find when they are putting the continuous coverage together . Do you know what I am talking about or have you seen this on your Google Earth. I would send you a picture but it won't allow me to do that it will allow me to save it as a project like it is some type of LIDLAR application . A while back doing research online for remote sensing and following links way over my head I came across a huge data set covering anomalies it asked if I wanted to down load the data and I clicked yes. It was huge and I never could access it after I down loaded it and now I don't even know what happened to it. .I was thinking that some how it has been access by Google Earth or am I imagining what I am seeing. If your there what do you think?

You move your cursor around too much. And 2 fast can't fix my eyes on anything because by the time I locked my eyes on what you are pointing at you move the screen and I can't get a fix on it. Also your layers are not turned on. Can't see any identifiers as to where you are pointing at but my guess is Jefferson notch in the white mountains in New Hampshire know the place well studied it many times. I understand what you're talking about because I do the same thing. I create maps for my outings. I map out the stream of water all the roads next to it and any routes that are quickly identifiable for access also marking on the map the distances I will have to walk from the end of the road to the stream. I have had four heart attacks and I cannot walk very far.

From oregon.. It's not the roots... it's the big rocks stuck under the roots. If those boulders and stones are covered in moss and an arm sized tree root. It means it hasn't moved in the past few floods. I found my first 2g nugget under a root.

Nice video. I am in Edmonton Alberta. -17 c today. I use salt to stop the water from freezing and my problem is I cant get close to the water so I have to dig into the bank for material, and thaw and reuse snow. Winter has advantages too. Less people and animals, no insects, and i can hit bars that are far from the river because I am using snow. the snow also reflects light so I can go quite late. To keep warm, keep moving, wear wool pile. Nice colour!

Hi. Its been 9 years since you posted this? Do you still Gold prospect? If so, how did you do with the Google earth technique ? Let me know. Its now August 3-2021 and I'm just getting into Gold Prospecting, I just use a metal detector at this point so far, but I'm planning on doing some gold panning in California around the Ventura County area and I'm also planning on doing a little dry washing in the desert in California ,Arizona and Nevada. So please let me know how things are going with you in regards to Gold Prospecting and any tips and tricks you can share would be very helpful. Like I said its been 9 years since you posted this video? You either hit the "Mother Lode" and retired to your own private island? or you gave the hobby up years ago. Take care. Hawk out!!

Ya no..i am an alaskan goldminer, i havent expieriance gold action the way you describe it,now paystreaks of flood gold yes, but most times your good pay doesnt come from floodgold,,and no course gold does not go to the bottom of river and then climb up to the other side, floodgold yes but an actual good paystreak no it doesnt work that way,if youve ever seen a picture of a beautiful glacier in a valley , you will notice lines of dirt in it, if the gold falls off the mountain onto a glacier the glacier carries it down the valley remaining on the side of the valley it fell on,something to remember after glacier recedes that side of the valley remains richer than the other side, ive proved this in many alaska drainages , almost allways one side is richer than the other, but if you want to chase the fine flood gold yes you are right,,i dont mine much fine flood gold, i like the REAL paying paystreaks of good gold, and to find them you must first determine which side of the valley the gold entered and work that side of valley till you find the paystreak,,to me floodgold is not the paystreak, give it a try, now if gold come from both sides you will find paystreaks on both sides, very few rivers ive worked had the same gold on both sides of river, start your quest by first determining which side of valley is richer, that gives a damn good starting point, if both sides have same gold no problem but if it ever was a glacial stream majority of the time one side is richer than the other, so start prospecting to see which side the real paystreak is, of course there are folks like flour gold wizard who live to find floodgold, been my experiance a true good paystreak will pay way more than your flooodgold paystreaks which ya are on inside corners
